The Board of Governance (BOG) at Pratik College of Education serves as the apex decision-making and advisory body responsible for guiding the academic, administrative, and developmental affairs of the institution. It ensures effective governance, resource management, and adherence to statutory and affiliating university norms while promoting the institution’s vision of excellence and integrity in teacher education.

Roles and Functions of the Board • Formulate and approve the institution’s strategic and academic policies. • Ensure adherence to the guidelines of the affiliating university, UGC, and other competent authorities. • Oversee the allocation and utilization of financial and physical resources for academic development. • Review institutional performance reports, including student outcomes, research initiatives, and quality enhancement activities. • Support the development of transparent and accountable administrative systems. • Monitor student support, welfare, grievance redressal, and anti-ragging measures. • Encourage faculty development, research culture, and community engagement. • Evaluate feedback from stakeholders and incorporate it into policy revisions and developmental plans. Key Components of Governance & Management • Governing Body/Board: Sets vision, approves policies, oversees finance; includes elected/appointed members (faculty, admin, community, external experts). • Academic Council: Focuses on academic policies, curriculum, standards, exams, and quality enhancement. • Administration: Led by Principals/Directors, responsible for daily operations, implementing policies, staff supervision. • Faculty & Staff: Participate in decision-making (e.g., department chairs, faculty councils). • Regulatory Bodies: National bodies like the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) (India) set standards and guidelines for TEIs. Functions & Responsibilities • Strategic Planning: Developing and assessing institutional goals and plans. • Quality Assurance: Ensuring high standards in teaching, learning, research, and outcomes. • Curriculum Development: Updating programs to meet national needs (like NEP 2020). • Resource Management: Managing finances, infrastructure, and human resources. • Stakeholder Engagement: Involving parents, community, and students in governance.
