Campus Beautification and Maintenance Committee

About

The members the committee is responsible for overall beautification of college campus. The major areas of work are to purchase and plant all seasonal plants in the pots and lawns in the university. It is the responsibility of the committee to check cleanliness of all the lawns and manure needs of all greenery in the college. The nurseries of the seasonal flower plants are grown in the college. Clean environment is a basic necessity of human beings for health and efficiency. The main aim is to impart knowledge, create awareness and develop an attitude of concern and to nurture necessary skills to handle the environmental issues and challenges. Significant work is done by both faculty and students for beautification of campus.

Activities

• Landscaping & Greening: o Planting seasonal flowers, shrubs, trees (like avenue trees). o Maintaining lawns, adding manure, growing plants in nurseries. o Weeding, pruning, and repotting plants. • Cleanliness Drives: o Organizing campus-wide clean-ups to remove litter and garbage. o Ensuring cleanliness of classrooms, hostels, common areas, and parking lots. o Mop-up spills immediately and promoting proper waste disposal. • Infrastructure Maintenance: o Identifying and planning for repairs of buildings, utilities, and furniture. o Ensuring functional and clean washrooms, labs, and common facilities. • Awareness & Education: o Conducting campaigns on environmental consciousness, waste segregation (recycle/reuse). o Promoting a culture of care for surroundings and preventing vandalism. • Creative Beautification: o Decorating common areas with ornaments or artistic displays. o Implementing student-led beautification projects. Goals for Teacher Education Institutes: • Model for Future Educators: Teaching future teachers by example about environmental responsibility. • Improved Learning: Creating a positive, less stressful, and more inspiring environment for learning. • Community Building: Fostering teamwork and pride among students, faculty, and staff. • Skill Development: Nurturing practical skills in environmental management and maintenance.
